1) co2 is a naturally occuring substance, in the earth enviornment
this would indicate a warming of the earth is at hand.
2) co2 concentration in the atmosphere has been a good indicator of climate change from ice age to warm climates. the higher the co2 concentration the warmer the climates. lower concentration provides for a colder climate.
3) The naturally occuring cycle is measured in parts per million, ppm.
4) during the historic naturally occuring co2 cycle, the range for a cold climate tracks the ppm around 180 to 210.
5) the historic naturally occuring co2 cycle, the range for a warm climate, tracks the ppm around 280 to 310
6) data derived from vostock ice core samples
7) current levels have suggested that human activities has increased the levels of concentrated co2 to 380 parts per million.
9) high localized concentrations of co2 has many health effects that are to numerous to list here.
10) causing melting of ice caps that store large amounts of water in a solid form.
11) many books and models predict other problems associated with global warming… The problem is that co2 concentrations are currently outside normal ranges as a result of human activity.
12) models predict other problems if those concentrations are not returned to normal levels
13) there is also concern about positive feedback loops that will increase co2 concentrations at an ever increasing rate… like a snowball going down hill… getting ever larger at a faster rate.
