The governments of the world know this and are using it to tax us and then, ultimately enslave us.

Exactly, it’s a theory supported by many but which generated controversy – interestingly, two Russian physicists have bet $10,000 that the average global temperature during 2012-2017 would be lower than during 1998-2003 (see link below)

Here are some well-established facts:
1) Human beings are digging up and burning fossil fuels at a rate of 6 billion tons a year. This releases CO2 into the atmosphere.
2) The amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is rising. This is a simple measurement that can be verified by anyone anywhere on the Earth. The rate of rise is consistent with much of the released CO2 remaining in the atmosphere. The rate of rise is higher than has ever previously been seen in the history of the Earth.
3) CO2 is transparent at visual wavelengths and opaque in the infrared. This is simply a fact about the spectrum of CO2. Gasses that are transparent at visual wavelengths and opaque in the infrared are called “greenhouse gasses”, because the Earth absorbs radiation from the Sun at visual wavelengths, and re-emits it at infrared wavelengths. The balance between the power absorbed and the power emitted determines the temperature. If the atmosphere is more opaque in the infrared, the surface will have to get warmer in order to re-radiate all the power that is absorbed from the Sun. This does not require a computer to calculate, or any fancy modelling.
4) The expected amount of warming due to the amount of released CO2 is a few degrees Centigrade.
5) There are, however, many additional factors that contribute to the overall climate of the earth, and an increase of a few degrees Centigrade over a period of a century is modulated and masked by many other factors. One big effect is that the soot released by the burning of so much fossil fuel makes the atmosphere more opaque at visual wavelengths, and may prevent the full effect from appearing immediately. There is enough year-to-year variation in the average global temperature that the average temperature could decline for as much as five years even though the theory of global warming is correct. Individual storms or a particular cold spell are statistically irrelevant to the overall issue.
6) A temperature rise of a few degrees Centigrade in a century is a lot. If all the fossil fuels on the Earth are burned, the amount of CO2 will reach an all-time high in the history of the Earth. Those times in history when the CO2 level was higher than it is today were quite hot. There were rainforests in Antarctica, and Kansas was under a shallow sea.
P.S. A scientific “theory” is the best any scientific idea can get. The scientific method does not allow for absolute certainty, and to dismiss an idea because it is “only a theory” is an error. A United Nations panel, consisting of people from all over the world, has recently given an official opinion that the “theory of global warming” has a 90% chance of being correct. You are being told that there is a 90% chance of bad things happening to the Earth if we continue on our current path. Are you going to help or not?

It is a theory, but it should be supported by everyone. Global warming, a hoax? Please. Iceburgs are melting, there are floods and tsunamis everywhere we turn. Wake up, it’s real already!

Global Warming is not a Hoax. People in the EPA, NASA, NOAA, and even some Physicists believe Global Warming is true they have a lot of Proof. They had a Special where even well respected Stephen Hawking was asked about this. I would recommend watching this Special on The History Channel. Eight ways to the Destruction the Earth. Weird Title but it’s still good. I don’t know what time its on though I ‘ll try to figure it out and tell you soon.
