In the quest to save our planet and prevent global warming it seems that everyone is going green nowadays. The newspapers and magazines are full of articles about saving electricity, climate change and global warming. If we all do our little bit for the environment, many of those little steps will make our lives better and the future brighter for our children.

There is a lot you can do to cut back on your household’s electricity consumption. Small things like switching off lights and unplugging appliances when you are not using them. In winter you can make sure that all the windows and doors are kept closed to keep in the heat while heaters are working. The same goes for the air conditioner in the summer to keep the house cool.

To really drive your electricity bill down even further there are tactics and technologies that can make a difference. Using solar powered water heaters will reduce your consumption considerably. Geysers are the biggest energy gobblers and are responsible for one third of your electricity bill. Solar water heaters can retain heat for long periods of time. The good news is that you will cover your investment within seven years.

If you do not have the cash to install a solar water heater there are measures that you can take to manage your geyser. Switch off your geyser between 06:00 and 18:00 everyday and remember to do switch off when you go on vacation. Turn the thermostat down to sixty degrees. Insulating the geyser and pipes will help to reduce heat loss.

There are energy and water saving shower heads that flow at a rate of less than ten liters per minute. The old type operates at fifteen liters per minute so the saving is huge. They aerate the water or channel it into streams to give you a good spray from the shower head.

Lighting is responsible for twenty percent of all household electricity consumption. There is a world wide campaign towards more energy efficient lighting. Compact Fluorescent Lamps use twenty percent of the energy used to power incandescent bulbs and they produce the same amount of light. They also last six times longer than the conventional type.

You can make a difference to the global warming effect, so get smart about how you use electricity around the home. Lighten the load on your pocket and conserve the earth’s precious energy resources. It is now more important than ever to find the best solution to the energy problems for the future generations to come.

Michael Pepper

Global warming is happening and some people still think it’s not happening which is just fine, but even they have to admit the climate is changing. The planet constantly altering, we have to decide what we will do to adapt. Animals and plants are already changing the way they act by blooming and migrating sooner. With technology constantly changing, new variables are added to this equation of global warming that pessimistic scientists must take into consideration before they doom the planet. Now, for all those skeptics who think global warming doesn’t exist, here are 5 facts about global warming.

1. The Planets Temperature Has Increased And Average of 1 degree Fahrenheit (0.6 of a degree Celsius) in the last 100 years. With the increase in green house gasses, the suns rays stay trapped and increase the world’s temperature. It is predicted that the temperature will increase in coming years because more and more of the suns heat remains trapped here on earth.

2 The cause of the increase of climate change is Human activity producing pollution and green house gasses according to many scientists. Heavy industry vigorously emits carbon dioxide, Nitrous Oxide, Ozone, and other gasses. With an increase in competition to create the most products of the best quality comes an increase in the production of green house gasses, but with new laws and filters, the amount of these gasses being emitted into the air has decreased.

3. If the temperature of the planet increases to a certain point, methane from the ocean can be released into the air and drastically increase the temperature of the earth to dangerous levels. This is not to scare anyone and may not even have to do with global warming or human green house gas production, however scientists believe methane released from the ocean ended the Permian era, killed off countless land and sea creatures, and raised the temperature of the planet considerably.

4. People say that deforestation is a contributor to global warming right? According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), deforestation occurs at a rate of 53,000 square miles per year. This can negatively affect the atmosphere since trees are 50% carbon as well as cause environmental problems for the land which is used to having large forests on it.

5. There are more than 50 things you can do to stop or slow global warming including, lowering your thermostat, choosing energy efficient appliances and, taking showers instead of baths. Every little thing you can do to prevent energy from being wasted can help decrease the effect of human interaction with the earth’s climate. Global warming or not, preventing the waste of energy doesn’t hurt anyone.

Weather you believe humans are causing global warming or it is a natural occurrence that will pass, you still have to be aware of its effect on the world. Do some homework and learn about both sides of the debate. Now is the time when this topic is at its peak so it will help you to know a few facts.

George Christodoulou

50 Tips to reduce Global Warming

Actually we do not require radical changes to help the earth became more friendly. Change some your routines that can reduce the carbon that will ultimately save your money too. But the important thing is we can give our children a better place for the live. Here are 50 tips to reduce Global Warming to save our earth, and make a better life

Food

1. Reduce consumption of meat, vegetarian is the best. Based on the research, to produce 1 kg of meat, the resources that spent is equivalent of 15 kg of wheat. Imagine how we can save the earth from lack of food if we are vegetarians. Livestock also contributes 18% of world carbon, which is greater than the transportation sector (cars, motorcycles, aircraft, etc.). Not yet added the danger of additional greenhouse gases produced by other farm activities such as methane that in fact 3 times more dangerous than CO2, and NO gas is 300 times more dangerous than CO2. And certainly many health and spiritual benefits of a vegetarian was. You will become more healthy and loving.

2. Eat and cook from fresh ingredients. Avoiding foods that are processed or packaged to reduce energy and transport wasted due process repeated. Fresh food is healthier for our bodies.

3. Buy local products, local agricultural produce is very cheap and also energy efficient, especially if we calculate the energy and transportation costs. Organic food is more environmentally friendly, but the check came from. If we imports from other regions, possibly resulting carbon emissions would outweigh the benefits.

4. Used to Recycling Obsolete aluminum, plastic and paper. There will be more savings if you use it over and over again. Energy spent to make aluminum cans equal one is equivalent to the energy to turn on TV for three hours.

5. Used to buying in large packs. It will be much cheaper, also save resources for packaging. If too much, invite your friends or family to share together.

6. Turn off your oven a few minutes before time. If still left closed, then the heat will not be lost.

7. Avoid fast food. Fast food is the largest waste producer in the world. Beside that fast food consumption is also bad for your health.

8. Bring your own shopping bag which can be used again, so you reduce the amount of plastic bags.

9. Use washable cups. If you are familiar with the modern way that always provides guests with a drink of water or coffee in a package, switch to our old way of using glass, ceramic, or plastic food grade we can re-wash and wear.

10. Go for shopping in neighborhood area. It will save transportation costs and also your fuel.

11. Planting trees at every opportunity, like in your neighborhood or by participating in tree planting programs. You can by seeds donating, funds, etc., depending on the opportunities and abilities each of you.

At Home

1. Turn lower your air conditioner temperature. Avoid using the maximum temperature. Use the AC at the level until you feel comfortable enough alone. Ultimately this will save your electric bill.**

2. Use a timer to avoid forgot to turn off the AC. Use it according to your habits. For example your office hours are 8:00 until 17:00 o’clock. Set the timer to the AC in accordance with the office hours.**

3. Used of solar heating. Although more expensive, in the long terms this will save your electric bill.**

4. Use energy-saving lamps. Although more expensive, they are 8 times more powerful and more efficient up to 80% of normal incandescent lamps.

5. Turn off lights when not in use and do not let the water drip.

6. Maximize natural lighting. Use bright colors on the walls, use glass tiles in the ceiling, and windows.

7. Avoid stand-by position on your electronics. If your entire appliance is turned off (not in a position of stand-by) then you can reduce CO2 emissions in extraordinary electrical energy savings.

8. Reduce the frequency of opening your refrigerator. For every minute you open the refrigerator door will take around 3 minutes of energy to restore the temperature of the freezer to the desired temperature.

9. Immediately remove the rechargeable battery and if it is full.

10. Do not buy fresh flowers, if your area is flower producing. It must be sent from somewhere else. The transportation will produce a large carbon.

11. Use cold water to wash and wash in large quantities. If you have a small family, it is not necessary to wash every day. This will save water, reduce electricity consumption and also reduce the pollution due to your detergent.

12. Cut food in smaller pieces. The smaller pieces will use less energy to cook.

13. Use environmentally friendly cleaners and detergents.

14. Reuse your furniture again. If you are bored with your old furniture, you can make garage sale in your house, give to someone else or take it to the craftsman to be modified as your desire.

15. Donate toys that are not appropriate for your child’s age. This will reduce the toys production that will only continue to spend our earth’s resources.

16. If using a deodorant or other spray products, do not use aerosols. Aerosols are also a big contributor in our air pollution

Electronic Usage

1. Go rechargeable; use the equipments with a battery that can be refilled.

2. Buy electronic and equipments energy saving. For example choose the LCD TV than CRT TV (conventional TV tube). Look for AC or refrigerator with the lowest power consumption.

3. Not easy to change electronic devices that have the same function.

Sanitary Appliances

1. Cleaner, Greener, Meaner. Although still more expensive, cleaning products are environmentally friendly already present in the supermarket. But actually vinegar and baking soda can be used for cleaning almost everything of any kind. Mix the vinegar with warm water (50:50), those solutions can be used as a multipurpose cleaner. Baking soda can be used to clean the carpet also.

2. Make sure your house has good air circulation. This is very important that toxins in our surroundings can clean quickly.

3. Place the plants that can live in the room, it helps the freshness of your environment.

4. For handling the toxic products, please contact or environmental hygiene services in your environment.

In Driving

1. Use a car pool for your child’s school. This will greatly reduce your fuel consume.

2. If you can not get away from the car usage, use a city car or a car with fuel bio fuel, electrics, hybrids and even hydrogen, depending on your ability.

3. Replace your fuel! Use natural gas or renewable one.

4. Check tire pressure and your service schedule. Several trusted surveys to keep the condition of your car in optimum condition will save 5% of your fuel usage.

5. Rent a car when needed. If car is not the primary vehicles that you use, then the rent is a good choice.

6. Turn off the engine while waiting your child at the school or when there in severe traffic.

7. Use a car pool for you and your coworker. Find your coworker in same area to use your car. Then you can share travel expenses with them.

8. Learn how to drive well. Change transmission earlier can reduce fuel consumption up to 15%. If approaching congestion or traffic lights better stop slowly not to brake suddenly. Avoid driving in harsh. Move the gear when it reaches 2500 rpm-3000 rpm. And driving at 1500-3000 rpm limit, some surveys to get a satisfactory result in the fuel frugality if follow these rules.

On the Way

1. Try to have lunch at the office. If we often eat outside the office and routine, it is better if you buy a lunch box or drinking bottle which can be used repeatedly. Avoid plastic wrap or media Styrofoam (derived from petroleum and are difficult to unravel).

2. Reduce use of paper. Use internal e-mail and office software to create an internal report. Print reports / presentations only if required to do a deal with outsiders.

3. Turn off office equipment when not in use. Turn off from the source. Do not make stand-by, turn off the UPS and transformers. When you need it, pull electricity from the source.

4. Use e-banking. Divert your credit card bills through the collection by e-mail. Maximizing the use of e-banking will save you a lot of time and your expenses. You have saved and saved a lot of trees and CO2 consumption for paper manufacturing process.

5. For industry, start using renewable sources (wind power, water, solar, etc.). Use power-saving equipment and energy efficient, and make policy / regulation about energy saving in your company.

6. Go vacation in town and use land transportation, because the vacation will greatly increase your carbon footprint. Especially, when you are use the plane. An airplane is a significant contributor to greenhouse than a car or other land vehicles.

7. Reduce your business trip. With current technology it is possible to conduct teleconferences, also provides so many methods of communicating via the Internet.

8. Use your hotel towels more than 1 day. You’ll save one of the most important resources, water. And also reduce pollution from detergents used.

Climate change occurs gradually over a period long enough, between 50-100 years. Although slowly, the impact on the bulk of the earth’s surface is becomes hot. Here is the data from the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) which describes the conditions of climate change that happening right now;

There has been a temperature increase in average of 0.76 degrees Celsius between the periods 1850 to 2005.

11 of the last 12 years (1995-2006) are the years with an average temperature of the warmest temperatures measured since the first time in 1850.

There has been an increase in global sea levels by an average of 1.8 mm per year between the periods 1961 to 2003.

There have been more intense droughts in the wider areas since the 1970s, particularly in the tropics and sub-tropics.

Regarding those data, climate change impacts will felt by humans, such as;
Escalation in Sea Surface Water
Due to the earth’s rising temperatures could melt the ice in the Polar Regions. According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), in the last 100 years has been an increased in sea water 10-25 cm tall. Meanwhile, according to Greenpeace report, expected in the coming year 2100 will be an increase in sea water as high as 19-95 cm. Increased water 1 meter sea level will result in the loss of the island or the mainland of the world;

The loss of mainland Egypt 1%, Netherlands 6%, Bangladesh 17.5% and 80% atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Sinking of the islands, Fiji, Samoa, Vanutu, Japan, Philippines, and Indonesia. This means tens of millions of people who live in coastal areas must evacuate to higher ground.

Sea

Rising sea levels will result in a lack of endurance, so the coast vulnerable to erosion. This will also cause damage to infrastructure and housing on the beach. This phenomenon can lead to exile.

Climate change also resulted in a shift of the season because of a change in pressure and temperature. The implication dry season those will last long and disastrous drought and desertification. Countries that are expected to experience drought is Africa, Europe, North America and Australia. While on the other hand, the rainy season will take place in a short time with the intensity of higher rainfall causing floods and landslides.

Disaster occurrence of Humanitarian Crisis
Because of the lack of food supplies due to the high potential for crop failure and temperature changes is uncertain, caused lower agricultural productivity. Agricultural productivity in the tropics will decrease if the temperature of the global average rise 1-2 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the melting of polar ice will cause thermal expansion of ocean water mass and an increase in sea water, so this will decrease the production of fish and shrimp ponds. The accumulative effect of this situation is the widespread famine and widespread malnutrition.

Clean Water Crisis
This water crisis caused by prolonged drought. Under these conditions, due to change of seasons is not stable, so the water rarely threatened the water crisis. Source of fresh water will dry one-third of the world population in 2100. And in the middle of this century, subtropical and tropical regions of the dry will experience water shortages as much as 10-30 per cent so that threatened drought.

The spread of Human Diseases

This is caused by rising temperatures that cause the shorter incubation period of mosquitoes. Impact, transmitted disease by mosquito will reply breed faster. Spread disease, especially in tropical areas. Such as: dengue fever, diarrhea and malaria. due to increased populations of insects (mosquitoes) as vectors of disease. Heat wave that struck Europe in 2005 increased the number “heat stroke” (a strong heat stroke) is lethal, salmonella infection, and “hay fever” (fever due to dry grass allergy).

Loss of Various Biodiversity

Uncertainty global temperature changes resulting in a loss of species of flora and fauna which can not adapt, and approximately 20-30 percent of plant and animal species will become extinct if the temperature of the global average rise 1.5-2.5 degrees Celsius. In addition, rising water temperatures will increase the acidity of the ocean. Increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is estimated to bring a negative impact on marine organisms such as coral reefs (coral bleaching) and the extinction of other species that depend on these organisms. Thus estimated at about 80% of species of plants and animals will become extinct in the next century.
Temperature increasing resulted in easy burning dry twigs or leaves due to friction which increases the chance of forest fires.

Material and Non-Material Lost.
Global warming due to catastrophic hurricanes, floods and storms, more than 150,000 people died in each year. In 2003, the heat wave in Europe took 25,482 lives in 20 years (source WHO, UNEP, and World Meteorology Council). In addition, in the year 2080 is expected to have millions of people affected by floods every year due to rising sea levels. The greatest risk occurs in the densely populated lowlands, especially deltas of Asia and Africa and small islands. Meanwhile estimates of material losses from climate change reach around EUR 11 billion or about 110 billion annually.

Melt of Ice in the Arctic.
Climate change caused by rising surface temperatures can cause melting of ice and glaciers around the world, especially in the North Pole and the South poles. Since the 1960s, the ice in the polar world has decreased 10%, while the thickness of ice at the North Pole has been reduced 42% in the last 40 years (Prench, 2001). Other data mentioned 10-20% loss of glaciers in the Alps is also marked by global warming. The impact of the melting of the North Pole and South Pole will lead to expansion of ocean water mass and an increase in sea water.

Global warming might also have other, less obvious effects. The North Atlantic drift, for instance, is affected by salinity changes. It seems that it is diminishing as the climate grows warmer, and there has been speculation that areas like Scandinavia and Britain that are warmed by the drift might face a colder climate in spite of the general global warming.

The phrase global warming refers to the documented historical warming of the Earth’s surface based upon worldwide temperature records that have been maintained by humans since the 1880s. The term global warming is often used synonymously with the term climate change, but the two terms have distinct meanings. Global warming is the combined result of anthropogenic (human-caused) emissions of greenhouse gases and changes in solar irradiance, while climate change refers to any change in the state of the climate that can be identified by changes in the average and/or the variability of its properties (e.g., temperature, precipitation), and that persists for an extended period, typically decades or longer.

The politics of global warming have changed dramatically since the court agreed last year to hear its first global warming case. Business leaders are saying they are increasingly open to congressional action to reduce greenhouse gases emissions, of which carbon dioxide is the largest.
Global warming is a fact (or a theory, or a theology) on which humankind has come to unanimous agreement with unprecedented speed. The Earth is warming, or else it’s cooling, or else it’s not doing either very fast. If left unchecked, this will lead to the destruction of civilization, probably, in a Biblical flood that will happen around 1995.

Global warming has become perhaps the most complicated issue facing world leaders. On the one hand, warnings from the scientific community are becoming louder, as an increasing body of science points to rising dangers from the ongoing buildup of human-related greenhouse gases — produced mainly by the burning of fossil fuels and forests. On the other, the technological, economic and political issues that have to be resolved before a concerted worldwide effort to reduce emissions can begin have gotten no simpler, particularly in the face of a global economic slowdown. Global Warming- Science – The New York Times » more info from topics.nytimes.com

Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century and its projected continuation. Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 ° C (1.33 ± 0.32 ° F) during the last century. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that increasing greenhouse gas concentrations resulting from human activity such as fossil fuel burning and deforestation are responsible for most of the observed temperature increase since the middle of the 20th century. The IPCC also concludes that natural phenomena such as solar variation and volcanoes produced most of the warming from pre-industrial times to 1950 and had a small cooling effect afterward. These basic conclusions have been endorsed by more than 45 scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries.
Far from being some future fear, global warming is happening now, and scientists have evidence that humans are to blame. For decades, cars and factories have spewed billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, and these gases caused temperatures to rise between 0.6°C and 0.9°C (1.08°F to 1.62°F) over the past century. The rate of warming in the last 50 years was double the rate observed over the last 100 years. Temperatures are certain to go up further. [sup]

Scientists often use the term “climate change” instead of global warming.
Abhishek Agarwal asked:

The world is constantly changing but not like in the past few hundred years. Technological advancements are forcing the environment to change in a way that is not at all desirable to human-kind. Though technology has made our lives comfortable to a great extent the same factors of comfort are contributing to making the world a difficult and uncomfortable place to live in.

The machines that cool or heat our homes and offices contribute to global warming that is causing disastrous changes to the climate and the environment as a whole. The climatic changes all around the globe is leading to environmental disasters in almost every country and this should be sounding alarm bells in every home of the world. However, we are still taking things easy hoping for the governments of the world to do something about putting a climate change emergency program in place.

People should learn from the devastating earthquakes, typhoons and tsunamis that are wrecking havoc around the world. The first point in an emergency program should be to educate the people as to the factors that lead to such environmental disasters and how to detect or predict the possible occurrence of one. Then the next step should include lessons on how to prepare for such contingencies.

Knowledge on how to act in times of environmental emergencies will help people improve their chances of surviving and coming out of such a situation with the least amount of damage.

Evidence is pointing to the fact that nature is going to hold man-kind responsible for the degradation of nature and the onslaught of natural disasters is inevitable. Mankind should be prepared to face these disasters if not do something to avert them – if it is not too late already. Greenhouse gases are not just government propaganda. It is a fierce reality and is the main contributing factor to global warming a phenomenon that is likely result in half the globe being submerged under the seas due to the melting of the ice caps at the poles of the globe.

It is believed that no matter what man does now there is no way of averting warming of the globe, it can only be delayed. What is of prime importance now is that man should understand the problems of climate change and how to react in such times. When climate change brings about a rise in the levels of the seas and oceans, forest fires and other disasters man must know the best measures to be taken.

It is important that the governments of every country should set up a contingency plan and a training program to educate the people as to how they should react in the event of an emergency brought on by climate changes. This will contribute to millions of people being in a better position to safe guard their lives and property and will lessen the impact of the environmental disaster.

With the present knowledge acquired by scientists around he world we now have a better chance of surviving –we also have a better choice.

Zekcy

As climate change hits, who benefits from Kyoto?

by: J S- The U.N.’s IPCC organization focuses on CO2 and otehr greenhouse gases, to the exclusion of substantial contributions such as black carbon soot.
- The contribution of population growth to our global human carbon footprint isn’t even discussed.
- Even on the myopic topic of CO2 we fail to discuss that Kyoto and similar proposals clearly enable (almost guarantee) a continued rise in global CO2 emissions.

Will the simplistic claim that developing nations can’t afford a carbon tax be revealed as foolish as the ultra rich in Hong Kong have their real estate flooded, and the residents of Bangladesh are killed by the hundreds of thousands in storm surges as sea levels rise?

If the understanding of global warming is as solid as it is claimed to be, developing nations can’t afford not to participate, yet here we are with Kyoto, and a follow-on proposal in the works to carry us to 2050.

Since Kyoto is designed to fail at global CO2 reduction, what was Kyoto actually designed for?
Michael Q – Kyoto does encourage developing nations to act in the spirit of reduction, while not requiring them do actually commit. China and the U.S. emit at equal levels today, but China is growing its economy 10%/year while U.S. emissions decline(target to be confirmed soon) 1.6% per year… which direction is the world going? Any reasonable person with a desire for results should be asking tough questions.
evans_michael_ya – I can’t help but notice that the U.N.’s policy will strongly beneift the people with economic and political power in developing nations, while committing the poor to an onslaught of disasters. It is highly unlikely to achieve its “save the poor” marketing pitch.
Bob – The discussions for the post-Kyoto treaty show no signs of developing nation CO2 emission growth limits.

The U.S. has reduced carbon intensity per person, but immigration has killed our overall results. Neither party has the courage to approach that issue.
davem – Europe’s $60 billion to China isn’t for nothing… it gave them the financial freedom to build several hundred more coal fired power plants, so Kyoto would fail to reduce global emissions, providing another excellent opportunity for politicians to raid the till.

Global Warming. are you Worried About It?

by: Lance BrownToday I read an article in the paper. The headline read”Doomsday Clock Ticks Closer to Midnight”. Apparently a prominent group of scientists in 1945 set up this clock to illustrate impending nuclear annihilation. At that time their main concern was nuclear war and midnight symbolized a widespread nuclear conflict. They moved it to 11:55 today. Their concerns have shifted however, more onto Global warming. The dangers posed by climate change are nearly as dire as those posed by nuclear weapons they say. I couldn’t help but ponder how the world seems to know something ominous is on the horizon but they don’t know exactly what.

As a believer in Jesus I guess I have an added advantage to know exactly what is coming down the pipe for planet earth. As a matter of fact everything that is currently happening out there in planet earth has been forewarned about 2 thousand years ago without squinting to hard at the bible. In Matthew chapter 24 and Luke 21 the disciples asked Jesus “what the sign of his coming would be and of the end of the age”. Notice I didn’t say the end of the world. The world mistakenly believes that Armageddon is the end of the world but scripture clearly bears out that it is a time of great tribulation but also a new beginning after that. Jesus gave them a list of things to watch for that would be the tell tale signs. I will attempt to touch on a 3 obvious ones here for those that may be scoffing at bible prophecy. For all the atheists out there that have the guts to read this.

So what are we seeing lately that everyone can clearly see that the Bible is totally accurate and right on pace with.

#1 Well first off Jesus in Matthew said we would hear of wars and rumors of wars. Also that “nation would rise against nation”. If you look up the word nation in the Greek you get the word ethnos. In other words ethnic diversity against ethnic diversity. Gadzooks! Countless examples of wars and ethnic groups fighting each other all over the world at this moment. All you have to do is watch the news on Iraq or Iran or some of the wars going on in Africa. The Yugoslavia thing awhile back also comes to mind. I’m sure you can fill in the blanks here depending on which war you have been following.

#2 He also said there would be “famines and earthquakes in various places”. I don’t think you have to look to hard for truth in this one as scientists clearly telling us that more and more earthquakes are happening with increasing intensity in the last few years. We all are acutely aware of famines. Organizations like world vision are constantly on our televisions educating us. Even Bono has stepped up to the plate and tried to get the rich countries to cancel the debt of the poor countries to take a stab at eliminating poverty and hunger.

#3 Lastly Jesus said “there will be signs in the sun,in the moon and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring”. So have you seen any hurricanes lately. How about tsunamis. Katrina ring a bell. I live in B.C. Canada and the west coast has had a string of storms in a row this winter and of a fierceness that has not been seen in years putting thousands out of power.

So what does it all mean you might ask. For the believer it means Jesus is secretly about to rapture them out of the judgments that are about to fall on mankind as a result of his rebellion and sin against God.

For the unbeliever it means troubling times ahead, such as never been seen on the earth before. I suggest watching Israel and the signing of a seven year peace treaty. When this happens the world has exactly that time frame. 7 years until Jesus returns to earth to set up his new kingdom. During this seven year period a series of wars takes place leading up to Armageddon, where so much carnage and killing results the blood runs up as high as the horse’s bridle.

Scary stuff if you are still here! Personally I don’t think there is anything we can do to fix global warming. But there is still time today to turn from your sin and accept what Jesus did for you on the cross and I’ll see you in Heaven.
