Earth Hour is a WWF global climate change campaign. Individuals, business, governments of various countries in all parts of the world will turn off lights for one hour as a statement of support for the efforts of climate change on Saturday, March 28th at 20:30 to 21:30 (local time).

We need the world to take action on Global Warming. And you can start here. Use Earth Connect to share your thoughts about Global Warming. In the lead up to Copenhagen, your words will be more important than ever before.http://www.earthhour.org/home/

Earth Hour 2009 was from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time, March 28, 2009. 88 countries and more than 4,000 cities joined Earth Hour 2009, ten times more cities than Earth Hour 2008 had (2008 saw 40 cities participate). One billion “votes” was the stated aim for Earth Hour 2009, in the context of the pivotal 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

Among the participants in 2009 was, for the first time, the United Nations headquarters in New York City. The U.N. conservatively estimates that its participation will save $102 in energy.
