Why is it that these questions people ask do not focus on the major global issues of today?
by: arialoniaI was curious to see what questions people seem to ask, and I must admit that I was displeased. I saw many questions about video games, body image, technology, and sports. While these may be important, why do we not ask each other: “How can I support ending the genocide in Darfur?” or “How can I lower CO2 emissions in an average day?” Why do we not focus on the big issues? Will a knowledge of how to reach level XYZ on game ABC make a difference about Darfur, Sudan? Will it help prevent the nuclear weapons program in North Korea? Is it going to help with making the world a better place? If not, why do we ask?

You focus on what is important to you and let others focus on what is important to them.

I don’t want to sound preachy, but from my experience is that most of the users here are children. And that people that “want to really make a difference” are out there doing it. Not on there computers complaining about it. Also Questions like “How do we lower our CO2 emissions” or “How do we stop genocide” Are questions even the so called experts can’t answer. I think (here we go) most of these BIG questions can only be answered when the Western world realizes that there is a world outside of there house and outside of there country. So instead of complaining, go and try to make your difference. And stop coming down on people that don’t and instead incourage them to try.
